The Exos T5s are by far the best wheels I have ever used. The wheels are better than my ZIPP 404 tubulars in every single way: they accelerate faster, they are much stiffer laterally, they are more predictable in cross winds and they are far more durable (they still run perfectly true and round, while the 404s needed to be trued after each weekend of racing). The DT Swiss hubs roll smoother than anything else available, the bladed spokes hold a higher spoke tension than regular spokes, which explains why the wheels perform so well under load. The bottom line is that these wheels are stiff and light enough to use as climbing wheels, they handle well enough to use in technical criteriums and they're aero enough to use on flat TTs, I could not imagine a better mix of characteristics. That's my honest feedback on the wheels.

After a handful of races on the Exos wheelset, I can say with certainty that my initial impression - that of the incomparable stiffness - has held true. I have lately had the opportunity to test these hoops on some tight criterium courses at ludicrous speed, during which the advantage of their stiffness is truly seen. I recently placed second at the Collegiate National Championships on such a course, and my attack (following the successful 1-K flyer) came with 750 meters and 4 hard corners to go. My success in staying off the front of the field was due in large part both to my ability to carry speed into the turns with confidence, as well as the wheels' eagerness to be wound up upon exiting the apex. It honestly feels like the snap of a rubber band compared to other wheels (including Ksyrium SL3s) that I've ridden, and has allowed me to gap my compatriots where I would have otherwise remained in the field. This impression was strengthened at the Somerville races, which are as tight as crit courses come. During that weekend, I additionally tested (unwillingly) the bonding proficiency of tire-to-rim, as a Saturday flat led to a new tire and its subsequent gluing roughly 24hrs before the next day's race. Despite that event being a 6-corner, p-1-2 shootout with temperatures approaching 100 degrees (and a field much larger), I had no issues and the wheels again preformed flawlessly.

I have a set of the Exos tubulars and they are the greatest carbon fiber wheels I have ever ridden on. I have raced extensively on these for two years and have not heard a whimper out of them. The wheels that I had previously, (zipp tubulars) were super light and fast, but the first time I went out on them, they cracked. The Exos wheels have taken a beating from me, and then some. I have raced them twice at Battenkill-Roubaix, a veritable slug-fest on a road bike, riding on dirt roads and terrible pavement for 80 miles. In addition to this, they are light, stiff, and responsive. The rims, combined with the DTswiss hubs are a impeccable duo which reduce rolling resistance and maintain speed. The corrugated braking surface is also key, allowing for better stopping power. If you live in the Boston area, message me, and I will get you out on a set of these wheels and you can see for yourself.

The wheels came out great. I'm really happy with the builds - they look super slick and very racy and the wheels are super stiff, round and durable (today's course was very rough and everything stayed nice and true). The wheels are definitely beautiful. I'm REALLY excited about them. Alain used to work for Mavic and used to test prototype wheels for them - many of which never went into production. He said to me yesterday after a short 30 minute spin on the new clincher wheels that they were some of the best wheels that he's ever ridden and that they 'blew the doors off' of many of the wheels that he tested. He compared the ride to the Mavic Oi track wheels - $5000 full carbon wheels, saying that they were SO fast and the acceleration was instantaneous.

We did a race in New York called the Battenkill-Roubaix. It's New England's version of the 'Hell of the North' and is comprised of a 75 mile loop through eastern New York state - green rolling farmland - with paved and dirt roads. 25% of the course was dirt. It had rained and snowed all week over there and it was actually snowing on our trip over on Friday night. Saturday was a balmy 42 degrees, the road surface had dried out, but the dirt sections were still soggy and there was some standing water in the potholes... a great testing site! Everyone raced on their wheels with excellent feedback. They were solid and road well in these extreme conditions. Noah broke two spokes in a front wheel though. This happened when his wheel made contact with the rear wheel of the rider in front of him. The rear skewer clipped the spokes and caused the nipples to break and bent the spokes. Nobody went down or was hurt, it was a typical close-quarters racing mishap. The plus side is that the nipples broke and did not pull through the rim. After close inspection, it was a simple fix with two new spokes and nipples. The neutral service guy that gave Noah a wheel to finish the race on was impressed at the durability. It was noted that this was far from the norm - most carbon rimmed wheels would be ruined after something like this because the nipple would pull through the rim, effectively destroying it. Good stuff!.

I have been privileged to ride a set of Exos tubulars now for almost a dozen races. I have ridden the wheels in hot and dry road races and greasy, rainy crits and I will say, with all honesty, that the wheels perform phenomenally. To put it simply, the wheels help make my bike feel like a set of ice skates moving across a rink with fresh ice. The wheels are very responsive, very stiff, but most importantly for me, they are safe. I have complete confidence in them and their braking compliance and durability. Just yesterday we raced in a criterium at which rain began to fall halfway through and the road surface resembled the topography of the moon. My set of wheels withstood the task with ease. There aren't many things I can critique regarding the construction of the wheels. The spoke and hub choice are the best, and the design of the wheel is always eye-catching. The logo is excellent. I like the way the 'N' in Nine Gs looks like a sail. I really love racing these things. I am excited to see how they work in the upcoming Fitchburg-Longsjo time trial”.Charlie

These wheels are sweet! Super stiff - in fact way stiffer (& tougher) than the Easton Tempest II's I was on before .. they accelerate nicely w/o a lot of drag .. after I got used to them at Marblehead - I really felt how true they were thru the corners. The weave looks aesthetically nice - .. it won't be long before the field catches on .. 'Don't fret too much over Zipp.. Although super aero - they crack , ask Brad- I found out the hard way!.

I think the wheels are very stiff and responsive. They have superior braking capabilities in relation to other carbon rims. Stiffness was great for quick accelerations, durability was great, I rode them for about 8 weeks of racing for about 25-30 hours.

Last fall, I posted a comment that was a little negative towards these wheels. Because of that comment, the President of Nine Gs contacted me and asked me a few questions regarding my thoughts on the wheels. After a few e-mails to each other I ended up getting my own wheelset to test. I spent about 1500 miles on them and have to say I am thoroughly impressed.
